“to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and set over it the lowliest of men.”
Daniel 4:17
His name is the Most High God. Compared with the kings of the earth, he has no equal. From age to age, He will stand.
He is the King I serve. I am under His constitution and I abide by His laws. I give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar but am infinitely more afraid as I give my offering to the King over Caesar.
He trivializes our politics and belittles our wise men to nothing.
Our systems, our parties, our governments, our politics are but folly to Him. He is not daunted by our words, he is not intimidated by our weapons, and he is not ignorant of our schemes.
For He is the watchful King. Watching as nations rise and nations fall over eons and eons of time. He sets up kings by his will and he brings them down by his will to see if men will DO his will- to love justice, and to show mercy to the oppressed.
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. All His citizens are blessed and prosperous. They drink living waters for drink and eat His words for food. His glory is their light. They shall be eternal, for His very nature is in them.
He has no equal. There has never been anyone like Him and there shall be none like Him. You shall look far and wide and anoint your kings and your princes, but there is still One who sits over them in glory and in honor.
His power is unmatched.
His fury is unquenched.
His love is consuming.
His law is righteous.
His arm is strong.
His mercy is great.
On his thigh is written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and on himself is a name that no one knows but himself. But as for me, I shall call Him by the only name I know him-
His name is Jesus Christ, God Most High!
