“we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed- God is witness. Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others.”
1 Thessalonians 2:4-6

In a time where much the activity of church has been externally glorified with technology and showmanship, I realize that it is difficult to be an authentic servant of God. Paul is describing here what has not yet been fully birthed within my own heart- a completely God-motivated, God-driven, God-approved attitude for ministry.

No flash, no frills, no love for public attention, or even private attention, no fetching for the respect and praises of men, no seeking approval from others, and no self-pleasing agendas. I desire none of that in my service to Christ and Christ would desire none of that for me.
