I think it’s cool that in two places of 1 Peter, he specifically talks about the prayer life of his audience. In both instances, he is exhorting that they take courses of action which defend or protect their prayer life.
In a prosperous and wildly distracting culture like ours, such a word cannot be more emphasized–we need to guard and protect our prayer lives.
Busyness cannot deter our prayer lives, or entertainment dull our prayer lives, or ministry get in the way of spending precious time in prayer.
We must have a vision of Peter in guarding our prayer lives.
