“may you have strength to comprehend… and to know the love of Christ”
Ephesians 3:18
Paul prays here that we would have strength to know God’s love.
Why does he pray that we would have strength?
I think for him, he has a revelation of the largeness of God’s love, which is why he goes on to describe the “height, the length, the width, and the depth” of God’s love.
God’s love is so large you need strength to understand it.
It’s like lifting a heavy rock. In order to truly lift it you need power and strength, and I think this is the same idea.
It is my prayer that the strength of my spirit would be able to understand the depths of God’s love.
