Psalm 121
One of the gladdes things I know about God is that he never sleeps.
I think if he slept, we’d be in trouble. Can you imagine a prayer going up at 3am in the morning and God’s like “come back later.”? But thank God that he’s not like that.
That Psalm reassures us that the God who watches over us never sleeps while he watches. It’s not so much about the sleeping that is his focus as it is about pointing to the fact that God is never inattentive to his people.
Every prayer you pray, God is paying attention. God sees, God watches, God knows.
He is the God who never sleeps when he watches his children. Isn’t that an amazing thing to go to sleep to?
