“They do not cry to me from the heart,
but they wail upon their beds;
for grain and wine they gash themselves;
Hosea 7:14
The Lord condemns them because they cry out more about their circumstances than their current standing before God. Their relationship with Jesus is broken yet they are crying more because He tore down the idols which they loved.
What bothers us more? The temporary hurt that comes from the discipline of the Lord or the fact that we are far from God?
God will bless one one of those answers.
