You have my multiplied, O Lord my God,…your thoughts towards us; none can compare with you!
Psalm 40:5
David exalts the Lord by saying that God has multiplied His thoughts towards us. And then he says that “none can compare with you!”
No one compares to God in the competition of who thinks about us the most.
God is always thinking about us. We are always on his mind. What we’re doing, what we’re thinking, who we are, what we’ll become–these are always running on his mind.
We never need to feel lonely, but rather loved, because the God of the universe is perpetually thinking about us.
And his thoughts towards us are good.
And if we can catch a glimmer of what he thinks of us in the day, it will make our hearts come alive.
