Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

John 16:7

Do you trust Jesus’ wisdom? Okay, if you do, follow this…

Jesus said here that it’s better that he go away otherwise the Holy Spirit will not come.

I mean, c’mon, that’s God in the flesh! He says that it’s actually better that he goes away. Let’s break down this “better”:

Jesus thinks that it’s better because a) Jesus is excited for leaving OR b) Jesus is excited about what’s to come.

What do you think?

I think the answer is obvious. He’s excited about leaving because he thinks that for us to have the Holy Spirit is better. In other words, Jesus is pretty excited about us having the Holy Spirit.

You see, Jesus can only be at only place at one time. But the Holy Spirit can be at all places at all times. The Holy Spirit is the presence of Jesus. He is the person of Jesus. When you’re talking to the Holy Spirit, you’re talking to Jesus.

And the Holy Spirit lives in your chest if you have trusted in Jesus!

I think that’s pretty stinking exciting.
