Jesus saw Nathaneal coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!”

John 1:47

What Jesus says to Nathaneal should concern you.

When Nathaneal approaches Jesus, Jesus takes precious time and precious words to draw the attention of those around to Nathaneal’s life. And there, what does Jesus do? Jesus honors him.

Jesus honored Nathaneal for his righteous life and his life of integrity. And this begs an all-important question:

If you were you Nathaneal’s shoes, and you came to Jesus, would Jesus honor you?

Would he honor your lifestyle, your choices, or your attitudes? Would he recognize that this is a godly man or woman who is not perfect but who desires righteousness as God desires it? Would he see the race you’re running and commend your progress?

Or would he not recognize you? Or delegate you as those who fell by the wayside in vain pursuits, and of those who are said to them, “Get away, I never knew you.”?

Would Jesus honor your life?
