The Holy Spirit is a person. And he longs to be our best friend.
He’s so good at initiating things, but we’re so poor at hearing and responding to him.
I think the Holy Spirit is grieved because when we hang out with him, all we want to do is whatever we want to do. We never ask him at any given moment what He wants to do.
The Holy Spirit is a sensitive person. The scriptures says that we can grieve the Spirit of God within us by our sin (Eph 4:29).
But he is not weak. He was right there creating the world after all (Gen 1: 2) He’s full of power and full of desire. He’s just a humble guy.
Truth be told is, he is often slighted by our lack of responses to him, than he is honored. He is often sad about the sins we commit with our bodies than he is overjoyed at our life of holiness. He is often forgotten in our religiousness, in our overworked mentalities.
I honestly wish I was a better friend to the Holy Spirit.
